Ruffled Feathers

Walking along the quarter mile track
The ruts had appeared
Reverence for the track had steared
For the honor of the style with a stack;

Stand back not on the quarter mile
As the crowd of five or six *Canada  geese cross
And as I walk through their small flock with one of the right neck ruffled
Gathering on the edge of the grassy oval filled by many with whyle.
